“Six Memos for the Next Millennium” is a collection of five lectures Italo Calvino was about to deliver at the time of his death. Each lecture, or memo, is devoted to five indispensable qualities: lightness, quickness, exactitude, visibility, and multiplicity. The sixth memo, consistency, was never committed to paper. Inspired by the collection, I created a time-based visual depiction of each lecture, or memo. The six indispensable qualities and their opposite meanings are depicted through a diverse assortment of appropriated dance clips arranged to create a singular choreographed piece.
